A lab-made antibody that sits on the outside of the receptor that slows cartilage growth, so the signal cannot switch it on; it is a cancer drug.
Monoclonal antibody against FGFR3. It binds the receptor's extracellular domain, blocking ligand engagement and dimerisation. Oncology only.
Risks. In its cancer trial, 6 of 30 adults given it alone had a serious adverse event, such as an infection or an infusion reaction, and the registry does not say which the drug caused. Its trials have all been in adults.
