A pill built to block only the receptor that slows cartilage growth, and not its relatives.

Oral FGFR3-selective inhibitor, designed to avoid the toxicities of FGFR1, FGFR2 and FGFR4 inhibition. In cancer trials, and in a phase 2 trial in children with achondroplasia.

Risks. Three adults with advanced cancer reported from its first trial had no severe side effects. Avoiding the harms of related drugs is what it was built for, not something a trial has shown.
