SC79

Cells and tissue onlyNot measured in peopleResearch onlySmall molecule
A laboratory chemical that switches on Akt, the survival signal, in an unusual way. Never approved or trialled.
A small molecule that binds the Akt PH domain, blocking its movement to the membrane while paradoxically activating it in the cytosol. A research reagent with no approval anywhere and no registered clinical trial.
Risks. No harm is documented because nothing has been tested. Switching on Akt throughout the body is switching on the main cancer pathway, and nobody has checked what that does.
