Pterostilbene and piceatannol

Food or supplementMeasured in people, not heightBy mouthNutrient
Two close relatives of resveratrol, sold as supplements. One of them is absorbed better than resveratrol is.
Analogues of resveratrol sold as supplements: pterostilbene is the dimethylated version and is better absorbed, piceatannol the hydroxylated one. Both are proposed to raise SIRT1 expression or activity.
Risks. Pterostilbene raised LDL cholesterol at the higher amount in its own trial. Beyond that almost nothing is known, because almost nothing has been studied.
