Low-level laser therapy

Approved, for something elseNot a drug
Red or infrared light shone on the skin. Cleared only for temporary pain relief, never for bone or growth.
Red and near-infrared light applied to the skin from a low-power laser or diode array, also sold as photobiomodulation. Cleared only as a device for temporary pain relief, with no cleared bone, growth plate or height indication anywhere.
Risks. Mostly harmless to skin if used properly. The real concern is the rat study, where daily use over a growing bone reduced its growth and pushed the plate toward closing.
