An experimental compound that switches on a prostaglandin receptor, which can hold GSK3 back, and is designed to be put only where new bone is wanted.

A difluorolactam agonist of the EP4 prostaglandin receptor, which signals through cAMP and PKA — the same second messenger route PTH uses, and which among other effects can restrain GSK3. Built deliberately for local delivery.

Risks. Nothing is known about its safety in people, and switching this receptor on throughout the body brings the side effects of that signalling, which is why the compound was made to be applied in one place.
