GDF-6

Inside the plate · In BMP and TGF-β

Not approved for people anywhereNot measured in peopleBy injectionProtein or enzymeAlso CDMP-2

The closest relative of GDF-5. Never given to a person, though a first trial has been registered.

The nearest relative of GDF-5 in the same subgroup, also named as a cartilage-derived morphogenetic protein. Approved nowhere. A first-in-human trial injecting it into spinal discs is registered and had not opened at the time of writing.

Risks. No person has ever had it, so nothing is known. The genetics point to fused joints as the risk.
