A tablet that switches the puberty signal off at once, licensed for adults with endometriosis or heavy periods.

An oral GnRH receptor antagonist, approved for endometriosis pain and, in a combination product, for heavy bleeding from fibroids. It blocks the receptor outright rather than overstimulating it into shutting down, so the axis falls quiet immediately instead of over weeks. No compound in the antagonist group has a paediatric indication; all are licensed for adult oncology or gynaecology.

Risks. Its combination products carry the strongest class of warning for blood clots, and they thin bone in a way that may not fully recover, so they are capped at two years.
