Cells and tissue onlyNot measured in peopleResearch onlyPeptide
A six-building-block peptide designed to stand in for a natural growth factor. It appears in the literature under two different names.
A six-residue peptide, sequence LIANAK, built to imitate TGF-β1. The same sequence is published under a second name, cytomodulin-2, which makes its literature harder to follow than it looks. A research peptide with no approval, no registered trial and no human use.
Risks. No safety data at all. Imitating this growth factor is expected to cause scarring, and a related compound did exactly that when injected into rats.
