Recombinant TGF-α

Inside the cell · In RAS and MAPK

Cells and tissue onlyNot measured in peopleResearch onlyProtein or enzyme

A natural signal for the EGF receptor besides EGF itself, made in a laboratory, and unrelated to TGF-β despite the name.

A second ligand for EGFR, acting on the same receptor through the same RAS cascade: RAF to MEK to ERK1/2. Not to be confused with TGF-β, which is a different family entirely. A research protein, with no clinical use for this purpose.

Risks. It is not a medicine, so nothing is known about its safety.
