Polygonatum sibiricum polysaccharide

Food or supplementMeasured in people, not heightBy mouthNutrient
A sugar-chain extract from a traditional tonic herb, sold as a supplement.
A water-soluble polysaccharide extracted from the dried rhizome of Huangjing, a long-standing medicine-food herb, sold as a supplement. It is not one defined substance: a review counts 49 different polysaccharides extracted from the same herb, with structure and activity depending on how they were prepared, and the crude drug may come from any of three plant species.
Risks. No trial has ever given the extract to a person, and nothing is known about growing children.
