Platelet-rich plasma

Not approved for people anywhereMeasured in people, not heightBy injectionProtein or enzyme
Your own blood, spun to concentrate the platelets and injected back. It really is a rich source of TGF-β1.
The patient’s own blood spun to concentrate platelets, then injected. Concentrating platelets roughly eightfold raises TGF-β1 from about 35 to 120 ng/mL, which genuinely makes it one of the richest accessible sources of the protein. Platelet-rich fibrin and platelet lysate are variants; platelet lysate is overwhelmingly a cell-culture reagent used to replace calf serum rather than a treatment.
Risks. Only the machine that makes it is cleared, not the treatment. It is not one standard product, and the main harms are pain and swelling afterwards plus the risk of injecting a joint.
