A natural part of the cell’s energy machinery, and a modified version built to be pulled into the mitochondria. Both sold as supplements.

Coenzyme Q10 is the natural electron carrier of the respiratory chain and a fat-soluble antioxidant. MitoQ is the same molecule with a positively charged tail attached, which the mitochondrial membrane potential drags inside, concentrating it where the damage happens. Both are sold as supplements.

Risks. Neither appears harmful, and coenzyme Q10 is very widely taken.
