Growth hormone attached to a carrier that lets it go slowly, so the hormone that reaches the body is the ordinary one.
A long-acting formulation: a prodrug on a carrier, releasing unmodified somatropin. FDA approved August 2021.
Risks. No boxed warning, but its label carries fourteen warnings: among them rising pressure inside the skull, a hip growth plate that can slip out of place, worsening scoliosis, diabetes, a higher cancer risk in children who have had radiation to the head, and sudden death in children with Prader-Willi syndrome.
