EGCG

Food or supplementMeasured in people, not heightBy mouthNutrient
The main active compound in green tea, sold in capsules far stronger than a cup of tea.
Epigallocatechin gallate, the main catechin of green tea, sold in capsules at many times the amount tea provides. It activates Nrf2 and inhibits NF-κB, and in the growth plate work it acts by inhibiting the chaperone protein Hsp90.
Risks. High-dose capsules damage the liver in some people. European law now limits the amount and requires the label to say it should not be taken by anyone under 18.
