A plant compound found in parsley, celery and chamomile, sold in capsules at far higher amounts than food provides.

A flavone from parsley, celery and chamomile, sold in capsules at many times the amount a diet supplies. It acts on many targets, among them CD38, NF-κB, thyroid peroxidase, aromatase and the oestrogen receptor.

Risks. It blocks the enzyme that makes thyroid hormone, and too little of that is a known cause of short stature in children. It also acts on the oestrogen receptor, which is the signal that closes growth plates.
